In this module, you’ll focus on misinformation — how it looks, how it is spread, and how you can tackle it, all while grounding yourself in habits and practices that will keep you safe. You’ll also explore how technology is used to influence what you feel, see, and believe, and what you can do about it.

    Your Role in the Information Ecosystem

    Examine how and why the posts on your news feed were selected, and decide whether you can trust the information on your feed.

    Spot Unreliable Sources

    Recognize clickbait and unreliable sources, train your eyes to identify tricky web addresses, and familiarize yourself with trackers.

    Explore Visual Misinformation

    Identify “cheap fakes” and deepfakes—it may be less obvious than you think.
